You Only Live Once

Lately Ive been asking myself the question “Why are people taking the safe road instead of following their dreams?”
Every day I hear people say “Oh, I wish I could do that.” Or, “Wow, I’ve always wanted to do that but never got around to it.”
So the question I ask is why aren’t we going for what we want? Why are people selling themselves short and never reaching their full potential?
I think people are afraid of Living Pretty because it’s a lot more simple for us take the easy way out, rather than work as hard as we would have to, to achieve our dreams.
People take the safe road and never reach their fullest potential and are always haunted by the question: “What if?”
As humans we are afraid of change. Usually, because we are afraid of failure. But what many fail to realize is that we can do anything we set our mind to.
You and I both know how easy it is to go to the grocery store and buy a pre-made cake. It saves us time and we don’t have to worry about messing up the ingredients and we do not have to worry about leaving it in the oven too long. However, if one actually takes the time to make an authentic home-made cake, you have that sense of joy and pride after knowing that you made this, that you put your heart and soul into something. Well, that’s what happens when you go after what you want and once you reach it, it is a great feeling of satisfaction. The same applies to everything in life, if you really think about it.
When you follow your dreams it may seem like a scary task at first. You’re basically giving up everything you have ever known to take a risk and start fresh. You’re haunted by the big “what if” and you may even have people telling you that you can’t do it and that you are making a big mistake. But you cannot listen to them and let negativity effect your bright future. Remember, it’s your life you are bettering, not theirs.
My philosophy is to do it, just live your life. Live it happily and live it your way because in the end you’re going to regret the things you didn’t do. To live a pretty lifestyle you have to let go of the negatives, stop wondering “what if?” and just start living the life you desire!
If you’re like me, you are a DIE HARD Pinterest fan. Seriously I pin everything on that! I’m talking about my dream home, wedding ideas/pictures (HA like I’m getting married anytime soon), quotes, cute animals and a completely obsessive compilation of Luke Bryan and Ryan Gosling (what, if Pinterest is an online vision board then a girl can dream can’t she?)

I think it is one of the most creative and heart-warming forms of social media yet. After seeing all the health quotes all I want to do is work out. After seeing all the rustic, yet elegant wedding albums, all I want to do is get married. And after seeing all the amazing, mouth watering desserts, all I want to do is mow down on chocolate cake or my newest addiction, brownie batter dip (I know right, my mouth is still watering at the thought of it-check out Diary of a Wannabe Fat Girl for the pics).

After each Pinterest session, I feel better about myself and my life than I did before I logged on. I love the fact that I can make these vision boards which to me, helps me organize my life and figure out what I'm doing, where I'm going and where I want to go with my life. It also makes me realize that I'm not the only one who thinks some of these things or feels the same way about many topics.

If you haven't checked out Pinterest, I highly recommend it and if you have already checked it out, please feel free to follow my boards through clicking the link below;

Thank you!
xoxo

Short but Sweet

I'm just letting you know that I chose the book background to make it look like I was actually going to say incredibly wise words, which, might I add, I am going to try to. However, I am not making any promises.

Stay tuned kids.
